My grandmother and
great-aunt were among
the  tufting pioneers of
Dalton. Along with the two
ladies, my Daddy and his
brothers formed Redwine
and Strain, a chenille
bedspread business.
Later, after the mill was
sold , my Daddy sold yarn
for a company called
Candlewick Mills and
later, for himself.  These
earrings represent the
yarn cones I remember so
well as a child...which
built the Carpet Capital of
the World!

NEWS & EVENTS
September 19-20, 2009:   CREATIVE ARTS GUILD FESTIVAL, DALTON, GA.

My first participation in any festival as a visual artist (I've been a performer in a couple)
was all wet!  North Georgia experienced record rain and flooding, but the show went
on. The majority of the 45+ artists were moved into the concourse area, under the
Guild building.

I created this special
line of .999 fine silver
jewelry from molds I
made from natural
materials from Whitfield
County, GA. !!
Some pieces are
highly polished fine
silver and others have
received a beautiful
patina treatment over
the fine silver.
I condensed my display to one pair of
louvers and the two tables; one was
intended to be a demonstration table,
but the air was so wet that the clay was
really unmanageable!
